Popular Dancehall workshops by Miittu in Lahti at D-Dance Studio on Saturday 3rd of May. Miittu Lehvävirta is a professional dancer & dance teacher from Helsinki. In Dance, Miittu values enjoyment, community, cultural knowledge, technique, and expression. Miittu constantly joins workshops by Jamaican Dancehall dancers, and also other styles classes to keep up her skills ja knowledge of the style. She has taken training journeys to London, Belgium, France, Ghana, and Jamaica. As a teacher she is encouraging and positive, but wants to challenge students to grow.
Female Dancehall: Dancehall is part of Jamaican culture. Female Dancehall focuses on the feminine side of Dancehall. It highlights femininity, and sexuality in a powerful and intriguing way. Dancehall is empowering, liberating and really fun.
In class you'll practise different variations of hip rotations, and shaking techniques. You'll learn moves and steps created by Jamaican dancers. The choreography will be fiery and energetic.
Sensual Female Dancehall: this class focuses on more calm, and seductive movement. The choreography in this class will be softer, than in Dancehall Female.
