Female Dancehall & Twerk with Heels Workshops in Lahti

Miittu’s popular Dancehall and Twerk workshops will be held at D-Dance Studio in Lahti on Saturday, May 30th. Miittu Lehvävirta is a professional dancer and dance teacher from Helsinki. For Miittu, the most important aspects of dance are enjoyment, community, cultural knowledge, technique, and expression. She regularly attends Dancehall workshops taught by Jamaican dancers, as well as classes in other dance styles, to continuously develop her skills and deepen her understanding of the culture and styles. She has also traveled for dance training in London, Belgium, France, Ghana, and Jamaica. As a teacher, she is encouraging and positive, while also challenging her students to grow and improve.

Female Dancehall: Dancehall is part of Jamaican culture. Female Dancehall focuses on the feminine side of Dancehall. The style highlights femininity and sexuality in a powerful and captivating way. Dancehall is empowering, liberating, and incredibly fun.

During the Female Dancehall classes, you will practice different hip rotations, shaking techniques, and movements and step combinations created by Jamaican dancers. The choreography in the class is bold and energetic.

Twerk & Heels: In this class, you’ll combine elements of both Twerk and Heels dance styles. You can participate wearing high heels or without them. During the class, you will learn choreography while practicing the movements and techniques included in it.
